Hi,

I have a voltage level translator design for SN74LVC1G125 but it is not working. From the datasheet it seems that the minimum VIH input should be at least 0.7V x Vcc and therefore the 1.8V is to low when Vcc = 5V. Please confirm if my understanding is correct?

What other single supply device can I use that is footprint compatible with SN74LVC1G125?

If there is no single supply footprint compatible device, what other part can you recommend I use for this design?

Hi Willie,

This is correct, 1.8 V is below .7 x Vcc (3.5 V). You would need to reach 3.5 V to get a guaranteed High at the output.

To achieve this range of level shifting, you would need a device like the SN74LVC1T45 (not footprint compatible).
