SN74LVC2G125: Is PU connection acceptable for Hi-z output?

Part Number: SN74LVC2G125

Hi support team.

I received some inquiries from my customer.

In the figure below, when the output is Hi-z, is there a possibility that leakage current will flow from VCC2 to VCC1 via the body diode of the high-side MOSFET?

I appreciate if you provide some information regarding it.
Let me know if you have any question.

Best regards,
Higa

  • Hello,

When the device is in the high-impedance state (aka 3-state) the output can be driven to any value between 0 and 5.5V. Will there be leakage?  Yes.  How much?  Probably a few nanoamps at room temp, up to ~10uA across all process and temperature variations.

Note that you shouldn't have the output pulled above the supply value during normal operation (red circle above). This can result in current going back to the supply pin.

  • Hi Maier-san

Thank you for your prompt reply.

    I understand.
