Part Number: SN54HC573A

Hi Team,

A customer have p/n 8512801RX in his system,

but according to data sheet a exist only 8512801RA p/n.

I also can not find it in our system.

If it same item.

What is difference betwenn X and A suffixes?

Can you verify it?

I see these part numbers in our system (this system includes any obsolete parts):

85128012A

8512801RA

8512801SA

All three are active and are variants of the SN54HC573A. They have details listed in the Package Option Addendum of the datasheet:

To be clear, I have no record of 8512801RX. You will need to show me a datasheet from Texas Instruments with that device in it.

could you please confirm this query internally?

customer said Texas produced this item with suffix RX many years.

It is not acceptable that TI not serve old information.

Will appreciate if you can recheck the issue.

He need to know if exist any difference between to suffixes (RA and RX) that belongs to plating only.

Hi Frank,

I'm not sure what you mean by 'confirm this query internally' -- I'm as "internal" to the team that does this as you can get, and I don't have record of that part. Please provide evidence of its existence. The customer may just have a typo on their system.

I received the email with the SMD documents and will reply directly to that email as well.

I found the part number 8512801RX listed in the 1987 revision of that document only. I haven't been able to find any reference to that in our system.

The 'D' revision shows that the appropriate part number for SMD 85128 is 8512801RA, which is the part number in our datasheet and what is available for order.

Looking through the documents in detail, I found that the last character (X) indicates the lead finish of the device. This is detailed in MIL-PRF-38535, in which I found this table:

As you can see, "X" indicates that A, B, or C are valid options for the lead frame finish. Considering that the only part number we have on record is for the "A" version, I would guess that they have always ordered the A version from us, and it just also falls under the "X" umbrella provided by MIL-PRF-38535.
