SN74AHC1G125: limitation for output capacitor

Hello team,

 

Are there any limitation for output capacitor ?

Our customer will put the capacitor at 0.1uF – 1.0uF of 5V.

The background is that customer would like to implement RC circuit and concerned if a resistor is needed in order to make the current limit less than recommendation current or not.

    Hello Tanii-san,

    We recommend to not exceed 70pF directly at the output of any logic device, unless it is specified to handle a larger load in the datasheet.  The SN74AHC1G125 is only rated with up to 50pF in the datasheet.

    With any value above 70pF, a series resistor can be used to limit current to the absolute maximum rating using R = VCC / I_MAX as the minimum resistor value.
