Would you please confirm that the silkscreen bar (highlighted by the red-line) on the top side of the DRL (SOT563) package is the north side of said package, and that pin 1 is in the north-west corner?

Hey Don,
You're correct here. That is pin1. The bar is the pin1 marking.
More specifically for most rectangular packages the convention is to hold the chip with the pins up and down to where the text is legible, right way up, from left to right (same orientation as you're reading this). Then the bottom left corner will be pin1.

Would it be possible to update the datasheet to reflect the bar notation? At present the datasheet looks like so and is a little confusing.
