SN74AHCT1G04 operation at reduced supply voltage?

I would like to know if it is possible to to use the stated inverter gate at a supply voltage of +3.3V.

Obviously the data sheet indicates a supply voltage range of 4.5 to 5.5V, but is the part operational at a reduced voltage of +3.3V. It appears to behave correctly when used in this fashion. Other parts similar to this have a wide operating range, I was just wondering if this part possibly can be used at +3.3V.

    Hi Michael

     Is is OK to use the AHCT04 parts at 3.3V but they have not been characterized at that voltage. So all limits are unknown.

    We have several other families that are characterized at 3.3V.

    3.3V Cmos inputs would be 74HC04 or 74LV04.        If TTL inputs are needed 74LVC04
