SN74LV165A: input volatge check

Hi, SN74LV165APWR input volatge min value is -0.5V for maximum ratings and 0V for operating conditions. For customer appliation, the input will be even below -0.5V for about several ns as below waveform shows. Please help check if any risk for this. Thanks!

Hi David ,

I wouldn't advise going over or beyond the abs max ratings and violating the datasheet conditions.
However , you try to limit the undershoot with small series resistor, which also helps in limiting the current during the negative transient so as to not heavily fwd bias the clamp diodes.
