I’m trying to use an inverter instead of  a comparator in an oscillator circuit.  Today, we use a Max9140 comparator, but it’s input protection circuitry affects the oscillators performance in a negative way, impacting
its amplitude and resonance frequency.  It seems an LVC14 (little logic) would work in its place, as long as its  input stage does not include diode protection circuitry something similar.  I need something with an input impedance in the megaohms range. 

 

Can you describe the input stages of these devices?  Are they the same for the AHC, AUP, and LVC devices?  Below is an example of I’m trying to do….
