SN74AVC4T245-Q1: Output status question

Part Number: SN74AVC4T245-Q1

Dear Masters,

Could you please help me to understand the output status of this device when it is working under below condition:

Both VCCA and VCCB are powered off (no power supply), but input has signals (low or high randomly), what will the device output in this case? My customer is designing there product using this device but may run into this scenario some time.

Thanks.

Eric

  • Hello Eric,

The input signals will not go through the device. When either of the power supply Vcca or Vccb is at GND the device goes into a high impedance state. This device also has the Ioff feature that disables the outputs. There is an Ioff spec in the datasheet that says the device will not allow more than 1uA off current through the output when the device is in the off state.

    Thanks!

  • Hello Eric,
Does "no power supply" mean 0V? If so, then all I/O pins are in a high-impedance state as specified by Ioff in the datasheet.
