CD4048B: Kd pin functionality

Hi,

We are using CD4048B for one of the project. As per datasheet Kd pin is used for 3-state output or logic 1 and 0 output (Page-3-137). But as per page 3-140, Kd = 1 -> Normal inverter Action or Kd= 0 -> High impedance output.

This IC i am using as a AND gate and tied Kd pin to Vcc. Is it will work as AND or NAND gate ?

Hi Sushant,

The Kd pin is essentially an enable pin. With it being high, the device outputs are active and the function should be AND with how Ka, Kb, and Kc are configured.
