TXB0106: Unable to get output signal

Part Number: TXB0106
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AVC4T774

Hi,

I have a application IC which needs 1.8v SPI and digital signals

My MCU works with 3.3V

I am using TXB0106 to convert 3.3V to 1.8V but as per the datasheet VCCA <  VCCB so i reversed the TXB0106 connections

My MCU signals goes to B side and output is from Side A .

I have connected the OE pin directly to VCCA but i am unable to receive any signals on A side

I need some help to resolve this issue

Thanks,

  • Hi Aditya,

Please send the schematic and the scopeshots of the signals. Are there no signals( no triggering) or are the signals not reaching the final state of 1.8V? I dont see anything wrong with your description here.
What is the signal data rate, loading on the outputs. How are you measuring it on the scope and the loading on the probes?
Are you using all the 6 channels or using only 4 of the 6? As i know, the SPI interface has 4 signals and you could consider using the SN74AVC4T774 which has greater drive strength than the weak buffered TXB0106 devices.
  • hi Shreyas,

I am doing the following -

    1. I have not yet connected my Application IC to the Output side

    2. i am using 10MOhm/12pF 200MHz 10X , oscilloscope probe

    3. I am directly connecting this probe to the output side without any load

    4. Then Connected a load of 1kohm and tried to see the digital signal across this load but still nothing on the scope

    5. My SPI is 3 wire - Clock, SDIO, Chip-select , the clock will operate between 1MHz to 10MHz

    6. Other digital signal is just a pulse of 200us

    - Thanks

  • Aditya,

Ok, thanks. Without any load connected, i would have expected output. 1Kohm load will be too much for the TXB device to be able to drive.
Please send once you have the input and the output scopeshot.
