LMV7239: Comparator Schematic review

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMV7239

Dear TI community could please review my comparator schematic.

Thank you very much.

I'm not sure is this question more like for the Logic forum or Amplifier.

Mike

  • Okay, i found that with this comparator I don’t need the R12 resistor.

  • There is nothing fundamentally wrong with your circuit. You are correct that a resistor to ground is not required. The LMV7239 has a push-pull output stage that will effectively drive the output to the positive and negative supply rails. I also noticed an RC filter at the output of the comparator. That sort of anti-alias filter is needed for an amplifier before driving an ADC but it is not frequently needed at the output of the comparator. This will actually soften the edge of the comparator output. If that was the intention, no problem. Otherwise, that can be omitted as well.

  • Dear Chuck,

this is the whole schematic, and yes SignalOut goes to an ADC, but not on the same board, it es 15 cm away,

connected with wires, and there is also an DC-Motor.
