SN74LV1T34: 1.8V to 3.3V application

Part Number: SN74LV1T34

Hi,

There's an application to use SN74LV1T34 as a 1.8V to 3.3V translation.  Does it mean we must supply 3.3V to SN74LV1T34/Vcc pin and it can translate 1.8V input from A to 3.3V output @ Y?  No need to add any external pull-up resistors?

Is there any way to achieve the same application purpose by supplying 1.8V to SN74LV1T34/Vcc?

Thanks!

Antony

  • Hi Antony,
Yes, the SN74LV1T34 can up-translate a 1.8-V input to 3.3-V output when supplied with 3.3 V. For more details, see the VIH and VIL specifications in the Electrical Characteristics table of the datasheet.

No external pull-up resistors are required.

No, this device cannot output 3.3 V with a 1.8-V supply. It will output 1.8 V, just like any other CMOS logic device.
