SN74LVC1G07: SN74LVC1G07 DATARATE?

Part Number: SN74LVC1G07

I have a problem  when using the buffer IC SN74LVC1G07.  When the input signal speed is 500K, the output is normal. When the input signal speed is 2Mbps, the output waveform is seriously distorted and can not work properly. VCC is 2.5V .what's the reason? thanks!

  • The SN74LVC1G07 itself can switch at 175 MHz, but it has an open-drain output, so when the input goes from low to high, the output goes from low to Hi-Z, and only the pull-up resistor can (dis)charge the load capacitance.

At 2.5 V, the guaranteed output impedance of LVC devices is less than 37.5 Ω. If you have a pull-up resistor of 3.75 kΩ, the rising output edge will be a hundred times slower than that of a device with push/pull output.

What is the actual problem you are trying to solve with an open-drain buffer?

  • Thank you very much for your reply. I tried to reduce the value of pull-up resistance and successfully solved the problem!
