What are you pulling the output up to? Whats the value of the pullup? If it's to VCC then there won't really be any issue unless its a very strong pull-up. The device will need to be able to sink the current during a Low output.

Thank you for your help here. I have missed some word here, the Y will pull up to 5V with 4.7k ohm resistor. Will it be a problem? Thanks.

4.7kohm will be large enough to limit the current to avoid damage of the device, but when the device outputs a High there will be current flowing back into the 3.3 V supply.
