Part Number: CD74HC4050
I am using CD74HC4050M noninverting buffer to send and recieve data ftom controller to another peripheral bard. It recive data from one peripheral and send tt to level shifter(5V to 3.3V). I am observing some IC's failed in the bord. input to input pin is 5V but output will be not 5V,. It will be 1.2V in board, 2.3V in another and 3.4 in one more.
Please suggest any impimprovement is requied for circit configuration.
Possible causes are overvoltage at the inputs, or overvoltage or overcurrent at the outputs. Can you show oscilloscope traces of the input and output in a working system when it's switching?
If all the signals at the TXS0108E go in the same direction, then you do not need automatic direction sensing, and you should replace it with a unidirectional translator or a buffer with overvoltage-tolerant inputs, e.g., SN74AHC541.
And CMOS inputs must not be floating; you should tie IF to VCC or GND.
