SN74LVC08A: Logic forum

Part Number: SN74LVC08A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LV08A,

Hi Team,

Could you please help with the below from a customer:

Device: SN74LV08ADR (2 Input AND Gate)

http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/sn74lv08a.pdf

What would the output state be when the supply (Vcc) is at zero volts?

For example, is the output at high impedance or is there a body diode that may provide some low output Z.

Thanks in advance!

Dan

  • The SN74LV08A has partial power-down (Ioff) protection. Its absolute maximum ratings show that you can apply up to 7 V to an output in the power-off state, i.e., it's high impedance.

The SN74LVC08A does not have Ioff. The absolute maximum rating for the output voltage is always VCC + 0.5 V, which implies that there is a diode between the output and VCC.
