SN74HC594: Cross

Part Number: SN74HC594
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LV165A, SN74AHC594, SN74LV594A, , SN74LS165A, SN74HC165, SN74ALS165, CD74HC165

Team,

Customer has to dual source all their components.

They are asking if we have pin compatible crosses (Q1 or catalog) for: SN74HC594DR and SN74LV165A.

They are also asking about MAX7317AEE+T, which i don't see a cross for.

Thank you for your inputs

Viktorija

  • Hi Viktorija,

Are you wanting other options for the same function? Not sure what to cross when you are providing our part numbers.

For the MAX7317AEE+T, we don't support these types of devices, you may have better luck with the Interface team.

  • I know, it's confusing. Yes, we are ultimately second sourcing ourselves. It's the way for customer to protect their design, should there be any supply chain issues. And I would rather have them put down two TI options, and add our comp..

If you have alternatives to the two TI parts, that would offer same/similar performance, in pin compatible form - let me know.

    Thanks

    Viktorija

  • TI does not make any SPI I/O expanders.

To get pin-compatible crosses, you have to look for the name model number in another family.

    For the SN74HC594: SN74AHC594, SN74LV594A.
    For the SN74LV165A: CD74HC165, SN74ALS165, SN74HC165, SN74LS165A.

I do not know whether the electrical characteristics of those match the actual requirements.

  • Hi Viktorija,

I understand more now. Clemens provided some good alternatives, but he also brings up a good point that these devices don't share identical parameters.

To narrow down the list, I am suggesting the devices which will be closest parametrically as to reduce any issues caused by different performance.
