SN74LVC1G08: What will the output be when the supply voltage is below the operating voltage?

Part Number: SN74LVC1G08

Hi,

I use "and gate" for a safety application. If the supply voltage drops below the operating voltage (Vmin 1.65), the gate output must be absolutely logic 0.

Can this logic gate guarantee the output will be 0?  What should I do to have output 0 in case of low voltage?

  • Hi Onur,

This device has Ioff which will disable the outputs if the supply is at 0 V, so if you can drive the supply to 0 V and have a pull-down at the output then you are guaranteed to have a 0. You can chance having the output drive low before powering down, this will likely keep the output low, but there is no guarantee since it is out of recommended operating conditions.
