Hi,

I have a question regarding the SN74AVC4T245RGYR and SN74AVC2T245RSWR:

Is there a power-up sequence for the components? if only one supply is ON and the other is OFF (either VCCA or VCCB), can it damage the component? 

I have a power sequence I need to follow and VCCB is turned ON after a few seconds (or vice versa).

    No damage to the device following power sequencing.

    Refer to the FAQ on power sequencing below:

    Also, consider using SN74AXC4T245 and SN74AXC2T45 which have guaranteed glitch free power sequencing.

    I saw in the application note that it verifies voltage translation from 3.6V to 0.8V.

    Does it relevant if the voltages are 1.8V and 3.3V? the glitches will still occur?

    I saw you are comparing to your competitors - does the series I chose also suffers from glitches?

  • Hi Efi,

    The app note specifically measures and ensures there are no glitches on AXC for any Vcc combinations. So, 1.8 <>3.3V is fine too.

    Unfortunately, we havent guaranteed no glitches on the AVC devices.
