SN74LVC1G125: Over current protection and continuous output current

Part Number: SN74LVC1G125

Hi Team,

Does SN74LVC1G125DCKR have over current protection circuit output pin ?

In my understanding, it doesn’t have over current protection but if yes, please let me know the behavior at short mode of output.

What is difference of the situation between “continuous output current” and “continuous current though VCC or GND” specified by absolute maximum ratings ?

Thank you and best regards,

Michiaki

  • Section 10.2.1 of the datasheet says:

Care should be taken to avoid bus contention because it can drive currents that would exceed maximum limits.

A short will definitely exceed the absolute maximum ratings:

The output current is through each single pin; the current through VCC/GND is shared by all I/Os.
