SN74LVC1G11: Output current sinking capability (when Vo>0)

Part Number: SN74LVC1G11

Hello, I want to use SN74LVC1G11 connecting to an output with voltage higher than 5.5V. Does the SN74LVC1G11 has current sinking capability? If I place a current-limiting resistor, could I have an entering current when output voltage is high?

If so, which is the maximum sinking current? Is it 50 mA (35 mA nominal)?

Thanks!

  • Hi Ricard,

When the output is high, it sources current out of the device. From the abs max table, it is not recommended to connect the output during the active state to a voltage greater than Vcc + 0.5V.

There is also a limit on the operating voltage max of 6.5V beyond which the reliability of the device may not be guaranteed.

32mA is the max sink or source current at 5V, and 24mA at 3.3V.
