SN74AVC4T245: Power up sequence

Part Number: SN74AVC4T245
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AXC4T245,

Hello,

VCCA and VCCB can power up in any order?

Or any order to follow?

My customer is using VCCA=1.8V and VCCB=3.3V.

And VCCA ramps up first then VCCB ramps up.

Is this OK?

Best regards,

K.Hirano

  • Hi Hirano san,

I would strongly recommend the customer to switch over to the SN74AXC4T245 which is P2P with the AVC4T245. The AXC family devices guarantee that there will be no issues with power sequencing of the supplies in any order.

    refer to the app note:

    Thank you for your response.

    Let me confirm some more.

Do you mean glitches could occur at SN74AVC4T245 like competition device described in the app note scea058a.pdf?

Any concerns other than the glitches when VCCA and VCCB do not ramp the same time, for example damaging internal ESD protection circuit and so on?

    Best regards,

    K.Hirano

  • Hirano san,

there is no guarantee on the AVC4T245 that glitches wouldn't occur.

There is no reliability concerns to the device when the supplies ramp up differently. System level concerns need to be measured appropriately.
