SN74AVC2T244: SN74AVC2T244

Part Number: SN74AVC2T244
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AUC244

Hello,

We are planning to use the SN74AVC2T244 as a converter from either 3.3V or 1.8V to 1.35V. The part is expected to drive 8 loads (2 mA per load).

According to the datasheet, Vout_low max is 0.35V low  at 1.4V rail and 2mA load. Is there a way to extrapolate / predict Vout_low max at 1.35V and 16 mA load ?

Same question for the Vout_high min.

Alex

  • Extrapolating far beyond the datasheet values is not reliable.

To get 16 mA with a reasonable VOL/VOH, you have to add a buffer designed for this load, or to combine multiple outputs. At VCC = 1.4 V, the strongest outputs are in the AUC family, but with 5 mA, you still have to use multiple ones. The SN74AUC244 has 2×4 outputs. (And AUC inputs are overvoltage tolerant, so you do not need the AVC translator.)
