SN74ALVCH32973 is not recommended for new designs, could you guys find a drop in alternative for this part or different package with the same pinout and function? if not, can two of SN74ALVCH16973 will do the same job like one of SN74ALVCH32973?

You are correct, two of the SN74ALVCH16973 will do the same job as one of the SN74ALVCH32973. I am not aware of any other parts that will perform this function.
