SN74AVC8T245: How to calculate power consumption

Hello team,

I received a question from my customer about power consumption of level translator SN74AVC8T245.

How should they calculate the power consumption when using SN74AVC8T245RHL under conditions described in attached graph?

In the datasheet, the power consumption was described in Table1 as current instead of Watts.

Also, I'm a little concerned with the "Each 20 mA", they aren't planning on driving 20 mA on each channel are they?

Thank you for providing the information in the link.

The schematic I received from the customer, certainly describes 20mA each.

I'm not familiar with level shifter yet. Could this specification become a problem? I would also like to give that feedback to our customers.

Hi Fukui-san,

This device has a limit for total current of 100mA:

So, yes, 8 channels at 20mA each would be a problem.
