MSP432P401R: Stacking Incompatible Booster Packs

Hi,

I am currently creating curriculum for a IOT / microelectronics course for high school students.

Consequently, I was considering using the CC3100BOOST (for some form of Wifi connectivity) and the Educational BoosterPack MKII (for the wide variety of available sensors) along with the MSP432P401R MCU. I have checked the compatibility of the two booster packs with the BoosterPack checker tool (results attached below). 

Ordering different booster packs would be a logistical issue for me at this point, so I want to see if there are any potential work arounds.

1. Would I still be able to use these booster packs if I just refrain from using some of the conflicting pins on the educational booster pack (ie using button 2 instead of button 1). The HIB pin on the CC100BOOST conflicts with the joystick select feature, so would this mean that pressing the joystick would send the wifi module to the bootloader state?

2. Is there a possibility to utilize the unused pins on my MSP (ie routing Button 1 from the conflicting pin 33 to the unused pin 27)?

Any help is appreciated!

    Hello Aidan,

    Yes the CC3100BOOST does have some minor pin conflicts when used with BOOSTXL-EDUMKII.

    2. I’m not sure if there is a way to use sysconfig to do some adjustments but probably not a good way to work around the pin conflicts in software as the conflicts are between the BoosterPacks and not the MSP.
