TMS570LC4357: LAUNCHXL2-570LC43 vs TMDX570LC43HDK

First of all, thank you for your guidance. Actually, I asked these questions to Mr. Sefiloğlu for some support. We are a new R&D department team and I want to expand the question. We work about industrial automation systems. At now, we are searching about collaborative (cobot) systems for improving our products and systems. So we have to work on safety (both hardware and software). We need safety, PWMs, etherCAT, GPIOs, SPIs,I2Cs, UARTs. We think we can implement this with TI Hercules series. 

1-)We chose TMS570LC4357. Is this enough or do we need a MCU from RM family?
2-)Is LAUNCHXL2-570LC43 adequate development kit?
3-)Is HalCoGen free for generating the code?
4-)CSS and flash tool is free.
These are traditional tools for embedded projects. I got it.

5-)Are other libraries and tools necessary for any safety mcu projects? And how much are they cost for mass production?

And we are new to both TI MCUs and safety issues. In the ti website, we found some documents and educational videos but those are about topologies. Shall you give us some advices about those subjects? (Where/How should we start?)

Hi,

1. For industrial application, RM57x is good enough. 

2. RM57x launchpad has headers for SPI, I2C, SCI, PWM, and Ethernet, so it is good for device evaluation and SW development.

3. Downloading the HALCoGen is free of charge.

4. Yes, the CCS and Uniflash are free too.

5. SafeTI Diagnostic Library (SDL) is free. The CSP (compliance support package) for HalCoGen and for SDL are free from TI, but to run the unit test the LDRA is required, you need to buy the license from LDRA.
