RM48L952: Fixed and Programmable pulltype

Part Number: RM48L952

Hi Team,

What is difference between Fixed and Programmable pull type in microcontroller?

And also the datasheet mentions Iih pulldown 20uA with Min and Max as 5 and 40uA;Is this the variation comes into picture when the pin is programmable pulltype or is it applicable in Fixed pulltype(for a single resistor)?

Thanks

Sathish

  • Hi,

Programmable pulltype means you can change the pull type by setting or clearing the pull-type registers. Fixed pulltype means you can not change it.

  • Hi Wang,

    Still I am bit confused.

For taking Input current(I/O pins), when its a Fixed 20uA pulltype  what's the value of Iih ? and when its Programmable 20uA pulltype what's the value of Iih?

    Thanks

    Sathish

  • Hi Sathish,

A I/O pin with internal 20uA pullup (fixed or programmable): the 20uA is nominal. The pullup will be able to source between 5uA and 40uA. If you are looking for the most the pin is guaranteed to source, you need to use the 5uA. We guarantee the pullup can source at least 5uA. If you are looking for the maximum current that may be sourced by the pin, use the 40uA. We guarantee the pullup will not source more than 40uA.
