TMS570LS0432: TMS570LS0432

Part Number: TMS570LS0432
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76PL455EVM,

Hi,

I am trying to program the TMS570432 Launchpad with the sample code provided by TI to work with the BQ76PL455EVM.

I see the "NOTE: Make sure that the resistor R8 is removed on the TMS570 Launchpad board."

It's that mean R8 resistors need to be heat and remove with a soldering iron?

I have a question : I found that the circuit diagram R8 in the design document is 0 ohm. After removing it, the circuit is open, right?

If  circuit is open the pin38  SCI1_RX can work normal to receive BQ76PL455EVM data?

  • Hi Kuanlei,

    Can you provide more details?

TMS570LS0432 has only one SCI module. If SCI module used to communicate with BQ76PL455EVM, R8 and R9 should be removed and wire the SCI TX/RX to BQ EVM.

  • Hi QJ Wang,

    Thank for your reply!

I am worried that removing the resistor will damage the TMS570 circuit board.

Because I see the  design document R8 & R9 is 0 ohm that mean this circuit is Short circuit.

    So,I think when I remove R8 & R9 the circuit is Open circuit. BQ76 EVM can't communications with TMS570.

This is my worry.Because I only have one board.

Now,I trust you when you say  " If SCI module used to communicate with BQ76PL455EVM, R8 and R9 should be removed."

I will go to remove R8 with a soldering iron .

  • Hi Kuanlei,

It's better to ask your lab technician to help. Before removing the resistor, please make sure the SCI is used for BQ76PL455EVM.
