Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

After downloading the program to the development board, the ERR light stays on after power-up. Is this a H/W or S/W related issue?

Hi Cherry,

Is the ERR led on before programming code to the device flash? ESM Group2 errors and ESM Group3 errors always generate an ERROR pin output.

The nERROR might be internally turned on when you perform some diagnostic tests. Please check ESM status registers (ESMSR2, ESMSR3), I'd like to know which bit is set.

Thanks for your help.

The customer has purchased a new XL2-TMS57012 development board and downloaded the out file TMS570LS1x_demo_software.out from the official link through CCS11 and burned and found the ERR led is always on. But it was normal before, the LEDs that come with both motherboards are blinking alternately. So it's not a hardware issue, maybe the demo program in the TMS570LS1X in the official case is not applicable to their TMS570LS1224 development board?

Hi Cherry,

It is a SW related. The demo project contains functions to intentionally generate 1-bit ECC error and 2-bit ECC error, which may assert the nERROR signal. If you call any of those functions in main(), the nERROR LED will be turned on after you power cycling the board.
