DK-TM4C129X: TivaWare Development Kit Lifecycle question

Part Number: DK-TM4C129X

My company makes extensive use of the TM4C129XNCZAD ARM microprocessor from Ti, and we have a number of DK-TM4C129X development kits we use in R&D and Production. I wanted to purchase another development kit , but they are not available in any of the standard suppliers (DigiKey, Mouser, RS, Farnell, etc.), certainly not for shipping to the UK.

Mouser's page for the product indicates that is obsolete. Is this true?

If the development kit is now EOL, what about the processor (TM4C129XNCAD)? What's the lifecycle for this part?

Should I start new developments on a different platform?

    Hello Tim,

    We don't currently have plans to re-build the DK-TM4C129X, I don't think it's been formally obsoleted yet, but no plans to re-stock. You are a rare user of it, 99% of our users are using the EK-TM4C1294XL LaunchPad.

    This is no indication of TM4C device lifecycle at all - its just consolidation of EVMs. A few years ago the same happened for DK-TM4C123G. We have simply seen that after releasing the LaunchPads for TM4C, the market largely moved towards preferring these low cost and easy to use LaunchPads.

    TM4C129XNCZAD and all TM4C devices are planned to remain in production for many years as we recommend these for new designs for customers who have minimum life cycles of 10+ years.
