TMS570LS3137: SPNU511B vs. SPNU511D

Part Number: TMS570LS3137

The SPNU511D Safety Manual is significantly different than the Rev B version, which included feature recommendation levels for implementation in Table-2. SPNU511D no longer provides the guidance. Is there a reason why they were removed?

  • Hi Adolph,

Earlier safety manuals (: SPNU511B) used to include our recommendations. However, we removed them under guidance of legal as we could not predict or know what the applications would need to achieve their goals. Specifically, the standard identifies the DC levels required for each of the safety integrity levels and the customer should utilize the FMEDA to estimate the coverages achieved given their choices of safety measures described in the safety manual. Their ability to meet the DC levels and overall SFF for the various safety integrity levels will be dependent on the combination of the TI provided safety measures and those they implement at the system level as an integrated approach.

  • Thank you for the explanation. Can we get the latest version of the FMEDA?

  • Hi Adolph,

You can download the latest FMEAD from TI private E2E:
