RM42L432: Certification of CCS Compiler (CQKIT_RV) and HALCoGen (CSP), with IEC 61508 certification available?

Part Number: RM42L432
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HALCOGEN

Dear Sir

The customer has signed a SAR1 SAR2 NDA and has the following questions for CCS:

At present, the SAFETI process proposed by TI has obtained a certificate for hardware development / and software development.
1. Are these 2 equivalents of the so-called Certification Kit (CQK) certified?

While HalCoGen generates CODE, it also mentions that when CSP is used as certification, it can produce corresponding reports for customers to use during certification.

would like to ask,
2. Does HalCoGen itself have a "certificate"?
3. If HalCoGen does not have a certificate, do you need to purchase a CSP to prove that HalCoGen is a secure tool?

The following are the four certificates that Hercules often describes in their briefings (including the aforementioned SAFETI hardware process and software process)

4. Page 12, of these 4 certificates, which ones can your company provide at present?

5. Our company has found that the RM42 itself has passed the hardware certification of TUV in IEC 61508, whether it can provide the original certificate.

  • 1. Are these 2 equivalents of the so-called Certification Kit (CQK) certified?

No. They are the processes of SafeTI Functional Safety Hardware Development and Software Development:

    HW development process: QRAS AP00210

    SW development process: QRAS AP00213

    2. Does HalCoGen itself have a "certificate"?

The HALCoGen SW development process was certified, but the HALCOGen generated code is not certified.

The HALCoGen compliance support package (CSP) was developed to provide documentation, reports and unit test capability to assist customers using HALCoGen generated software to comply with functional safety standards such as IEC 61508 and ISO 26262.

    3. If HalCoGen does not have a certificate, do you need to purchase a CSP to prove that HalCoGen is a secure tool?

The CSP itself is free of charge. You can download from TI MySecure SW site. But the unit test tool (LDRAunit) is not free, you need to buy the license from LDRA separately.

    4. Page 12, of these 4 certificates, which ones can your company provide at present?

For RM42Lx, there are 3 certificated: Certificate for IEC61508 SIL 3, and certificates for SW and HW development processes.

The certificates are located at https://www.ti.com/product/RM42L432?keyMatch=RM42L432&tisearch=search-everything&usecase=GPN#tech-docs

    5. Our company has found that the RM42 itself has passed the hardware certification of TUV in IEC 61508, whether it can provide the original certificate

You can find the certificate from ti.com
