Hi Team,

1. Do you have MIPS values for MSPM0L1x-Q1 and MSPM0Gxx-Q1? My customer is comparing C2000 and M0 and is worried that M0 would not have enough power for FOC motor control.

2. Some of the Arm MCUs offer a HW trace feature which allows us to see what is going on in the MCU with minimal invasion for like unit testing and so on. Does the MSPM0G3107-Q1 offer this trace utility?

Hi Daria,

We have a motor control library already for MSPM0 which is in our SDK. Current guides - Stepper Motor Control, Brushed Motor Control, Hall Sensored Trap Motor Control, and Sensorless FOC Motor Control.

The MSPM0G3507 has MTB (Micro trace buffer) which can store the last 4 instructions.

Hi Daria,

What is the purpose behind needing the MIPS info? MIPS isn't the greatest statistic, it can vary heavily depending on the test conditions (IDE, compiler, accelerators, CPU speed, etc.). That is why I provided the libraries because we have already done FOC motor control.

They want to have a ballpark figure for an initial evaluation and to compare with C2000 performance.

Hi Daria,

I do not have the MIPS information, C2000 is faster than the MSPM0 platform, but we have done an FOC motor control.
