Hi Experts,

We are considering using external PSRAM on AM243x.

Would it be possible to achieve up to 16 MByte of memory using the following setup:

as described in the AS1C8M16PL-70BIN datasheet?

Will this be supported by the GPMC drivers ?

Hello Alex,

If the customer wants to connect with more data size support greater than 8MB, then go with 16bit Address and data Multiplexed mode which supports till 128MB.

Please look at the FAQ details for different memory size support.

As per SOC, the above stack connection is supported but connecting two CS lines with the same address and date connection increases bus capacitance due to whether GPMC may work or not work and we have not tested .

Currently, in MCU +SDK, we don't support this type of Stack connection.

In MCU+SDK we support an 8MB data range with a non-multiplexed address and data lines.

Hello Alex,

There is no plan to support stack connection from MCU+SDK.

But, I have seen some customers experimenting with these types of stack connections.

In MCU+SDK, PSRAM is already supported on CS0 and similarly users need to do for CS 1 line if they want to go stack connection.
