We have used TM4C123GH6PZ in one of our product where it is required to be tested for Radiated Immunity (RI) test with 200MHz to 2GHz with 30v/m as per ISO 13766-1 standard. when subjected for the same  its observed that the system goes into a hang state and do not recover.

Due care has been taken with protected power supply & PCB designed with proper guidelines given by TI

Requesting the team to support to solve this issue

    Hi,

    RI or Emissions are largely system and implementation specific. EMI/EMC testing is done at a system level based on a completed design for products. Certifications are not given out at an MCU device level. Any pretesting must be done with the completed system for it to be valid. Just because the MCU functions properly for EMC does not guarantee the whole system would do so after layout of additional components.

    That said, from a system standpoint, our TM4C1294NCPDT has been tested for EMC based on EMC Direction 2014 EU standards for our EK-TM4C1294XL LaunchPad and has passed. The Declaration of Conformity can be seen here: https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/sszq113

    The general best practices for EMC is to use proper grounding and shielding techniques to prevent unwanted electrical signals from entering or leaving the device. Grounding involves connecting the device to a ground plane or earth ground which provides a low-impedance path for unwanted electrical signals to dissipate.

    Hi Charles,

    Thanks for the info. As pert your suggestion TM4C1294NCPDT is tested for EMC, that means TM4C123GH6PZ may be less prefeed for EMC requirements? kindly confirm

    Hi,

      What I'm saying is that EMC is meant to be done at a system level, not at component IC level. The EMC we have done is for our EK-TM4C123GXL LaunchPad evaluation board with the TM4C123 MCU on it and has passed based on  EMC Direction 2014 EU standards. You will need to run your EMC test on your final product/systems. It is by no means the TM4C123 is less preferred for EMC requirements.
