How do I get Code Composer Studio to list the new Tiva part number in the device selection under the project properties?
Have sampels of the XM4C123GH6PMI6 which is the pre-production version of the TM4C123GH6PM.

Rustin,
I believe CCS 5.4 will have the Tiva part numbers in the device list. If you are unwilling to wait for the 5.4 release or to use the beta, I can try to find out a way to add them in to CCS 5.3.
Rustin,
In an excellent display of timing, CCS 5.4 was released between my last post and right now.
Tankist,
IAR version 6.50.5 is available and supports the new Tiva parts. Update it from the IAR website.
@ John,
Excellent display of care/responsiveness from you - merci!

@ OCY,
Might, "Old Cow Tiva" better align - this forum? OCY banner flies proudly - MSP space...
I am also using the IAR EWARM compiler with the TM4C123G Development board and I cannot find the sensorlib project that comes with the eval board. I see a project file for the Kiel uVision compiler but not IAR. Where you able to find the information you were looking for?
David,
Is there not a sensorlib.ewp project in your TivaWare\sensorlib directory? This project builds the sensorlib library. The qs-logger application in TivaWare\examples\boards\dk-tm4c123g\qs-logger is an application that uses the sensor library. Both the qs-logger and sensorlib have IAR .ewp project files in their respective directories in the most recent TivaWare download, which can be found here.
Yes there is a project file for IAR but no work space file .eww file. Every time I load the .ewp file into IAR I get an XML file format only. Am I missing something. Do I need to convert the project .ewp file to a work space .eww?
David,
Instead of using the File menu to open it, use the "Project->Add Existing Project..." menu sequence.
Lekha,
Are you looking under the Tiva part numbers? There are still the Stellaris LM4F parts in there, but the rebranded versions are the Tiva TM4C parts.
I checked the project creation functionality in 5.4 and I can find the Tiva parts.
Thanks for your reply. I am new to code composer and just installed v5.5. I am using an existing project and getting the errro "File devices/tm4c123be6pz.xml does not exist" and " this project was created for a device that is not currently recognised Cortex M. TM4C123BE6PZ". So I tried to go into project properties -> general -> device and edit the device but I see only some generic and stellaris part numbers. This is different from what my colleague has on his version of code composer. Is there any way I can double check that I have installed 5.5 correctly?
If there are no tm4c .xml files in ccsv5\ccs_base\common\targetdb\devices, that would mean something has gone wrong. I suggest that you download and reinstall. Remember to check the Tiva C devices checkbox when you are installing.
John, I did do a fresh install from the website and am not seeing the device error anymore. Thank you. Now, when I try to build an existing project I get the following error - Cannot run program "make": Launching , failed. Error: Program "make" not found in PATH. Can you help? Thanks.
Something is wrong with the path to the make utility.
Did you create this project, or is it one of the TivaWare examples? If it is your project, look how an existing TivaWare project is configured in the project Properties->Builder->Builder section
If it is a TivaWare project, or if it has the same path for make as the TivaWare path, something still did not get installed right. There should be a gmake.exe in ccsv5\utils\bin.
