Regarding unused PIN

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C1236H6PM

Hi,

In TM4C1236H6PM  I am not using piin 77, 73, and 72. Can I leave these pins as blank. Please help

Regards,

Sharan

  • Hi,

Please review the part number - what you ask for is 64 pin number, so no pins 72...

Also, look for this application note: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/spma051/spma051.pdf which has general rules for configuring the micro and making a good PCB.

    Friend Petrei gives good guidance.

However - can almost, "guarantee" that while your current plan does not involve those pins - your future use may require them!   (not to ask - "how" I know)

Suggest that you route any/all GPIO pins to board edge (header ideally) or - at the minimum - to properly sized via - so that you may harvest those currently "unneeded pins" in the future.  (You do not want to have to later "tack" a wire to any fine-pitch device!)
