Hello,

I am a newbie here and we are being taught development on Tiva C Series TM4C123G boards in our university. We have been asked to install CCS and TivaWare on our laptops. I am an OS X user and while I found the BETA version of CCS and installed it successfully, I can't seem to find TivaWare for Mac OS. Is it there for OS X or is there an alternate way of development for OS X users?

Hello Ranveer,

We don't have a TivaWare installer for OS X. You will need a Windows machine to install TivaWare.

Are you using USB or Ethernet? Otherwise I don't see anything in Tivaware that's compiler host dependent. The cross compiler yes, Tivaware no. Technically even the USB support isn't os dependent but the associated drivers probably are.

Hi,

To install Tivaware on OSX here it is a small "secret" - just download the package as usual, then change the extension from .exe to .zip, then unpack to your home location. Do not forget to read the licence agreements...

Hi,

So I did what you said and the project built successfully. But, when I tried to debug it on the board, I got the following error:

CORTEX_M4_0: Error connecting to the target: Frequency is out of range.

Any fix for this?

You might also try under Windows in a VM on your Mac. However, USB devices/drivers could be troublesome ...

HOW DID YOU MAKE TIVAWARE WORK IN MAC OSX Please let me know. Because we have a Mac OSx and we need to install tivaware in it for tiva C

I did exactly as suggested above. I unzipped the exe file and pointed the location to the unzipped folder. IIRC, it worked well.

How do you do this on a mac? i tried saving it as a .zip and it didnt do anything do i have to do more after this?

Unzip it, then keep it in a location in ur drive. Then simply add files to the driver.lib as u do fr windows
