LM3S6965 LM flash programming issue

We are programming the 6965 processor from your standard utility (Build 1613)provided and also downloadable from forum. We downloaded latest version

Here is screenshot for your reference.

When we connect 6965 board one to one with my PC, the board is getting programmed. But when we are connecting it to the local network, we are unable to program it.

The screenshot is as shown below

It shows attempting to connect.

We are getting ping from the unit i.e. it is perfectly connected to LAN and we have already checked that TFTP port is opened on network.

We verified it by installing TFTP server on one machine and we sent one dummy file from the TFTP client from other machine connected on other VLAN.

We have installed many number of units across India and we should be able to program them on our virtual LAN.

Please provide us with details on which network protocols like TCP/UDP,ftp,sftp,etc and ports like 63,65,etc. needs to be opened.

Also We are trying to connect on local LAN where there is no issue of proxy or security. However the connection gets failed if connected via switch on local LAN.

Hello Pradhan,

1. There are no image snapshots in the forum post
2. Is there a proxy server on the virtual LAN's?

Thanks for the quick response.

Please find image1 and image 2. you can see the msg in the image2 displaying " attempting to connect".

And yes, they are using the proxy , but when connected to their LAN there seems no issue.

The problem comes only when they try to connect it through the switch on Local LAN.

Did you check using a wire snooper that the BOOTP packets are reaching the devices?

You would need to connect a wireshark snooper on the final switch to see if the packets are being received at the device end

Dear Amit

The files are getting transferred from client to server when they ping the device, but LM flash programmer is not getting connected.

Also currently they are testing it on their internal LAN where is there is no proxy. Also they are transferring the file on Port 69 using TFTP.

Kindly help to advice why LM flash programmer is not getting connected. What could be the possible reason.

Hello Pradhan,

I would connect a managed switch and monitor the communication at the client side for the data packets.

The packets are being received. but they are not able to establish the connection by LM flash programmer utility.

They are also getting the BOOTP ever when it gets connected on their local LAN.

Hello Pradhan,

I believe, this is an on-site debug where a debugger must be used to see why the device is not processing the BOOTP packets!!!

Without knowing what the code is doing in-field or being able to reproduce the same on your side, it would be next to impossible to suggest anything that be recommended.

Hello Pradhan,

I would expect that when developing the product, it must have been tested at your facility for the feature of over the network update? Is that a correct statement?

I thought it was your application and you must be having the source code for it. There must be some examples in StellarisWare for ethernet and network updates.
