Hello there,

Do we have a launchpad or some type of developer board that pairs with this device so the customer could easily program the chip prior to having the part populated on their custom PCB? I looked around on TI.com but it just kept leading me to resources for the TMS570LS1227 which I understand is the replacement but I was just curious if there used to be dev kits and tools that were taken down following the transition to the 1227?

I appreciate any insight you can provide!

No launchpad for that part. Used to be a USB Stick and an MDK but under the LS20216 part #. I'm pretty sure these are both 'taken down' because we don't recommend at all any new development w. this part because the LS1xxx series is less expensive and higher performance. Plus the software is a lot more mature.

Neither of these options would really address the issue of programming though unless the customer were to find a socket that they could place on the kit instead of the device (which is soldered down on any kit as it comes from the PDC) and that's not something I'd recommend.

That's the USB stick. It has a BGA part soldered to the circuit board.

The MDK is a kit from Keil, www.element14.com/.../arm-mcbtms570-development-kit-for-texas-instruments-tms570x-microcontroller-family and has been obsoleted for quite some time.

Both these had the BGA soldered to the PCB so not suitable for use as a programmer.
