TM4C1231E6PZ: TM4C1231E6PZ programming through LM Flash programmer software

Part Number: TM4C1231E6PZ
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C123GH6PM, , EK-TM4C123GXL, UNIFLASH

Hi

I am using my own TM4C1231E6PZ board and LM Flash programmer sw with TM4C123GH6PM hardware to download program.

I cannot program IC approx. 8 times out of 10. Progress bar stops at any count ( usually multiple of 13 %).

Rest 2 times I could successfully program IC.

One another interesting fact is, If I did with CCS (debug) option, I would get 10 times success.

Can any one guide for this problem?

Regards,

Kiran

  • Would you please be more specific about the hardware you use to program the device with. You said "

. Do you mean that you used the JTAG signals from an EK-TM4C123GXL Launchpad? JTAG signals are very sensitive to reflections and cross talk. The wires used to connect the JTAG signals must be short, or you must provide proper AC termination and appropriate shielding. Pay particular attention to the TCK line.

The programmer in CCS is newer than that in LM Flash Programmer. It does a better job of error recovery and retry. If you need a standalone programmer, you might try UniFlash instead. It is more like the programmer in CCS.

  • Thanks Bob,

I tried with Uniflash software to program TM4C1231E6PZ.

Yes, using Uniflash I could able to program IC all the times, even with cable length of 0.5 meters.

I have made a PCB using TM4C123GH6PM (hardware similar to launchpad or development board) and connected JTAG signal to TM4C1231E6PZ.
