LAUNCHXL2-RM46: BoosterPack and/or CAN transceivers for LAUNCHXL2-RM46 or other RM4

I notice in the Launchpad to boosterpack compatibility tool, that no RM4 Launchpad boards are available.

Is that really true?  Is it coming sometime soon in the future for the LAUNCHXL2-RM46?

How about ready to purchase CAN transceivers boards for the LAUNCHXL2-RM46?

    Hi Neil,

    The Hercules Launchpads follow the booster pack header conventions so many of the booster packs WILL work with Hercules but you need to research and insure proper pin locations. For example, there is a project in the LAUNCHXL2-TMS Wiki where we have integrated the RM46 with the CC3100 booster pack to add WiFi capability. The LAUNCHXLs-RM46 wiki is located at this link: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../LAUNCHXL2-RM46

    In regard to CAN, the booster pack standard header definitions do not include CAN so there isn't any possibility to make a CAN based booster pack at this time. This is a historical element since the lauchpad/booster pack echo system originates from our MSP430 product line which doesn't support CAN.

    Note that we have designed the launchpads with holes along both edges of the board. These are for mounting additional headers which allow all pins to be accessible. The hope was the community would adapt a new standard for an enhanced booster pack header definition but this hasn't happened yet. For certain, you are welcome to take advantage of this feature to add additional headers and design your own expansion boards with more great features and capability!!
