LM3S6965: Newer equipment to JTAG the LM3S6965?

Part Number: LM3S6965
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SEGGER

I have a legacy design that uses the LM3S6965, and some new software developers who will be working on the design.  We have been using 6965 eval boards to JTAG the target, so ideally I would like more 6965 eval boards, but they are obsolete.  Is there another eval board that is able to JTAG the 6965?

I saw the Segger J-Link product line. A colleague suggest the Keil ULink2, which I have not researched yet.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

  • We have (firm & I) going back to (earliest) LMI days - always deployed the Segger "J-Link" with (many) LM3S, LX4F and now w/4C123.    (along w/Cortex ARM M0, M3, M4, M7 from others)

It has always - proved superb.     We have FIVE (and counting/surely adding..)

J-Link is available at substantial "Educational Discount" (even from D'Key) and we find it to be superior - in every way - to "single vendor offerings" - which are "outside vendor's central focus."    (and perhaps ... reveal such)     Neither firm nor I receive "reward" for our "endorsement."    (not for "lack of trying!")

Our firm (may) have some inventory of your (and other) LM3S devices - all stored in temperature/humidity/ESD safeguared (i.e. appropriate environment.)    Yet - are you not fearful that, "Conversion to a newer (non EOL device) offers multiple advantages - and far better enables your "Welcome of NEW Designs!"     I'd give that far higher consideration - unless your "remaining stock" of LM3S - "reaches to the sky..."
