TM4C123GE6PM: High temp Tiva C or equivalent uC

Part Number: TM4C123GE6PM

Does TI make any Tiva parts that are specified to -50 to 150 degrees C?  If not does TI have a high temp or more aggressive temperature rated line of 32 bit arm MCUs?

  • Hello Robbie,

Tiva does not have such parts.

I am not aware of any TI MCU's that go up to 150 degrees. Automotive MCU's will go up to 125 degrees C only. On the low end, I think only space qualified parts go below -50 and I don't believe we have any MCU's that fall under that category but if you want to know about those options then I can direct your post to people with more knowledge of our portfolio.

You can see a table of temperature performance based on device qualification here: www.ti.com/.../products.html
  • Hi Ralph,

Thank you for the response! I looked around more using the link and it doesnt look like there were any 32bit arms like the tiva family rated for automotive.   Is that true?  What 32 bit arms do you guys have that are automotive rated?

  • Robbie,
Possibly the Hercules family will meet your needs.
    See: www.ti.com/.../products.html

At the top level of any of the product trees, you can navigate to a "product" view. This pulls up a parametric tool showing various features. One of the selections is "Automotive" This can filter the list to only devices that are Automotive grade. You can see this from the link above.

    Regards,
    Wade
  • Thank you for the reply!  It looks like they are all Hercules mcu's.  Is there a more general mcu like a tiva that is automotive grade temps?  I dont actually need the safety and all the extra automotive related functionality.   I just need a general arm like a tiva that can handle automotive temps.

  • Hello Robbie,

you ask about -50 to 150 degC,
however finally you say that you are looking for an automotive grade which is -40 to 125 degC.
If you are looking for a quick response, please create a new thread with Cortex and -40 to 125 degC in a topic subject.
