CCS/CC430F6137: CC430f6137 Ic Analog input pin (A0) - Max. input voltage is 3.3V, but I need 5V

Part Number: CC430F6137

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Sir,

I am using cc430f6137 ic for RF communication purpose. this ic is working well for my application.

my doubt is, this IC maximum analog input voltage is 3.3V but I need 5V (my sensor output is maximum 5V). How to solve this problem?

If not possible to solve this problem means.Any alternate IC for this same specification. my application is hall sensor data send and receive(Transceiver) rf communication.

Please send soon sir. thank you.

  • Hi,

as you stated the maximum analog input voltage is AVcc (I guess your supply is 3.3 V then) and you'll need to comply with the datasheet specification to avoid any issues to the MCU.
The easiest way, in case your application requirements allow for this option, could be using a resistor divider to scale your sensor output down to the allowed analog input. Otherwise you could of course look at a different sensor or a different MCU (outside of the MSP430 portfolio in case 5V analog input really is a must).
