Hi All,

i worked on STN2120 IC. 0333.obd_interconnect_board.pdf

See this documents. here STN2120 itself will chose the HS/MS/SW/J1850/KL CAN and accordingly there transceivers are connected ahead of there pins. by Superior automatic protocol detection algorithm they can able to do a automatic baud rate selection and automatic 11/29bit selection.

we can take it example of ELM327, which will support Automatically searches for Protocol. https://www.elmelectronics.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/ELM327DS.pdf

So, my question is that by using TMS470MF06607 can we do the same things like auto baud rate selection and auto 11/29bit or https://www.scantool.net/scantool/downloads/206/stn21xx_ds_c.pdf other protocols they mentioned here.

can we identify by using TMS auto baud rate?

Theoretically you can do that. The TMS470MF06607 can read the CAN RX line like a digital input. Also you can put the CAN module in silent mode and try different settings until you receive valid frames. I do not have any example software which tries to autobaud or select the number of ID bits.

Hello Bob,

I do not have any problem with RX of data from CAN. if i make a code like 250kbps/11bit from Halcogen. then only this settings data transmission only i can listen by CAN bus. if i have a different CAN settings like 500kbps/29bit then i am unable to listen by my CAN code.

Why? I don't Know.

and whichever RND you are telling me to do for RX data by TMS470 like change a 250 to 500 or change 11 bit to 29 bit and All. This kind of settings changes are not required in the STN2120. Just by sending SET AUTO BAUD it will set automatically BAud according to SLAVE. and not even requirement to tell that which protocol they are using.

why TMS require that RND to identify the baud rate or why we have to check with different settings?

There is no autobaud feature in the hardware of the DCAN module. You have to write your own software to detect the proper baud rate.

Do you have any algorithm or any link where can i get this algorithm for study? Otherwise suggest me some algorithm names so where i can get a clarity how to implement a AUTO BAUD (Algorithm) rate concept.
