RM48L952: RM48L952 and DSP

Part Number: RM48L952

Hi, how are you?

Silly question.

I see that is possible to use the CMSIS DSP library for the RM48L using CCS.

https://www.ti.com/tool/HERCULES-DSPLIB

My questions is, is the RM48L952 package include a Cortex R core PLUS a DSP core or this library is meant o be used when an external DSP is present on the hardware (eg C6x family DSP)?

Thank you :)

  • Hello Giorgio,

The device has two ARM Cortex-R4F floating-point CPU cores, operating in lockstep. It doesn't have DSP core.

This CMSIS DSP library is a suite of common signal processing functions for use on Cortex-R based devices. It doesn't require an hardware DSP CPU to run those functions.
