Marking will be having part no, year, wafer code etc..

Please find the below example ,

  • Kavya,

Symbolization will be as shown below(note "TI Bug" refers to the Texas Instruments Symbol identical to the one shown in your picture above).  In ASCII format:

    Best,

    Matthew

  • Matthew,

Thanks for the relevant response. Can you please confirm what is G4 ?

  • Matthew,

Can you also confirm is following symbol is Okay or not ?

  • Kavya,

G4 indicates the device is lead free.  This is an older symbol not used in alot of newer C2000 device because the assumption at this point is all devices are lead free, vs when this device came out.

    The drawing is correct.

    Best,

    Matthew

  • Hi Matthew,

    Thanks for your valuable support.

  • Hi Matthew,

    One more help required.

Can you please provide Current Data Code and Die Revision Code for SM320F2812PGFMEP ?

    Please clarify below queries,

    1. Is the date code is the only information that suggests the die revision?

    2. Does TI generate a PCN delineating die changes/errata with date code?

    3. Can we buy parts from distributor with date code specified?

I would be grateful for any help you can provide.

    Thanks & Regard,

    Kavya Hegde

  • Kavya,

Matthew is out of the office until July 8th.

    1. Is the date code is the only information that suggests the die revision?

You can often find the up-to-date die (silicon) revision designators in the errata document. Design issues are most often tracked by silicon revision so it is where we naturally update the information.

    From the latest errata:

You can see that there is a Silicon Revision Code (#) printed on the package, and there is also a Revision ID register that is mapped to CPU address 0x0883.

    2. Does TI generate a PCN delineating die changes/errata with date code?

Yes, PCNs are generated when TI introduces incompatible changes to the device.

    3. Can we buy parts from distributor with date code specified?

Distributors operate independently from TI so it would be up to each distributor to support such requests.

TI generally uses revision-agnostic orderable part numbers and will ship inventory in FIFO order, without reserving stock of older revisions.

For your reference, Revision G (0x0007) dates back to 2005, so you probably don't need to worry about ordering a specific revision.

  • Hi Tlee,

Thank you for your valuable support.

    I need one more help,

    1. In Errata they have mentioned Die Rev code for TMS device. Is it applicable to SM320F2812PGFMEP device also ?

    2. If it is Yes , Is Latest Rev code : G for SM320 device?

    3. If No, Please provide Die revision code for SM320F2812PGFMEP device .

    Thanks & Regards,

    Kavya Hegde
